Cooling by evaporative cooling

The article begins with a brief introduction in which it is discussed how evaporative cooling is currently one of the most effective technologies in the refrigeration sector, since it uses environmentally friendly techniques and requires less investment. Due to the many advantages it provides, this method is applied in various sectors, such as industry, mainly food, commerce, tourism or construction.

Evaporative cooling consists of a process by which water is used as a natural refrigerant, through its evaporation, in order to obtain efficient air conditioning or cooling. This process is carried out through contact between water and a stream of air in the heat exchanger, by which the thermal surplus is transmitted to the atmosphere. It is a principle applied in different refrigeration equipment, cooling towers and evaporative condensers to reduce the high temperatures of the fluids without excessive energy consumption.

Then the article lists the advantages of this type of refrigeration and that they are:

.- Energy savings: since electrical energy consumption is directly related to the condensation temperature of the refrigerant used, this method allows evaporative refrigeration installations to achieve energy savings of up to 45%, since evaporation removes more heat compared to traditional installations.

.- Minimum environmental impact: using only condensation by water allows to significantly reduce the greenhouse effect and the environmental impact, since it is an efficient process by which CO2 emissions are limited

.- Safety: with evaporative cooling cooling it is possible to achieve lower water temperatures, up to 25º or lower, which allows the use of intermediate heat exchangers. With this technique, condensation can be carried out in refrigeration facilities at a suitable temperature so that the pressure in the refrigeration circuit is much lower, thus reducing the risk of refrigerant leaks and the consequent potential direct impact.

.- Easy installation and maintenance: its compact design allows a 50% space saving compared to other air cooling installations, making it easier to install.

.- Reduced water consumption: the high efficiency design consists of a more compact heat exchanger that allows a reduced refrigerant charge.

.- Less acoustic impact

Control y Ventilacion, S.L. is a company of international renown within the industrial and livestock sector, for being a manufacturer of products within the evaporative cooling sector, such as the HUMIBAT, evaporative plastic cooler; or its NUCLEOS towers, Cooling Towers. In both products, the substrate in which the evaporative process is produced is a plastic honeycomb, a honeycomb resistant both to physical and chemical attacks, and at the same time flexible, a honeycomb with a mesh structure, made of polyethylene High Density, and marketed under the names of PANAL C & V or in the case of being a drop separator, SEPARADOR C & V .
