Evaporative refrigeration equipment is disconnected from the legionella outbreak

Given its relevance, we echo the article published in the following link:

https://www.interempresas.net/Industria-Carnica/Articulos/262824-Los-equipos-de-refrigeracion-evaporativa-se-desvinculan-del-brote-de-legionela.html

In the article we can see how it has not been established in the last 4 years between legionella outbreaks and evaporative condensation and refrigeration equipment. The inspections carried out have concluded the lack of connection between the lights and the equipment.

Thus, cooling towers and evaporative condensers are not the problem of legionella in Spain, there is therefore no relationship between these facilities and the number of cases of the disease. Disease outbreaks are caused mainly by domestic hot water networks.

These statements emerge from the report ‘Legionnaire’s Disease and Refrigeration Towers and Evaporative Condensers in Spain’, prepared by Dr. Juan Ángel Ferrer, of the Legionella Prevention Area of Microservices, in collaboration with the Group of Manufacturers of Evaporative Cooling Equipment of the Association of Companies of the Cold and its Technologies (AEFYT).

Thus, in the last cases of Sant Cugat del Vallès or Nules the control protocols were activated around the water network.

In cases that contemplated the cooling towers, such as that of Vitoria, the prevention actions have also been extended to the rest of the risk facilities: nebulizers, car washes, ornamental fountains and urban cleaning tank trucks.

In recent years, the evolution of outbreaks and the actions of the AEFYT Evaporative Refrigeration Group have contributed to reducing the social alarm around the cooling towers.

It is therefore encouraged to continue influencing maintenance in order to guarantee its safety and optimum performance.

Control y Ventilacion, S.L. is a company of international renown within the industrial and livestock sector, for being a manufacturer of products within the evaporative cooling sector, such as the HUMIBAT, evaporative plastic cooler; or its NUCLEOS towers, Cooling Towers. In both products, the substrate in which the evaporative process is produced is a plastic honeycomb, a honeycomb resistant both to physical and chemical attacks, and at the same time flexible, a honeycomb with a mesh structure, made of polyethylene High Density, and marketed under the names of PANAL C & V or in the case of being a drop separator, SEPARADOR C & V .
